Chyanne and Taylor | Canmore, AB Wedding | Canmore Wedding Photography

Between our lovely engagement session, and their even more beautiful wedding, it was such a pleasure working with this couple. Chyanne has to be one of the most kind, genuine and loveable women I have had the pleasure to work with. It is of little surprise to anyone that Tyler is so completely in love with her. You can sense that same love from all of their family and friends around her. They make a great couple together.

I am so pleased to share some of my favourite images from their engagement session in Kananaskis country, and their lovely DIY wedding that took place this past fall in Canmore AB. Chyanne went over the top with her incredible decorating and design ideas for their reception, which was held at the Miners Hall in Canmore, Alberta. She made everything from the backdrops to her own bouquets, and all of it was perfecting done.

Huge thank you to both Chyanne and Taylor for bringing me along to document this special time their your lives. I wish you both a life filled with love, companionship and the joy you feel for each other every day you are together. xo

Also, a huge shout out to Julie Kundrik, my lovely helper for the day. As always, it was a pleasure to have you come along for the day. xo

Mount Engadine Lodge ~ Intimate Fall Wedding

Getting to photograph this wedding was pure privilege, and a pleasure. I adore how these two love each other. They wear their love for one another, on their sleeves, right next to their big, beautiful, open hearts. I have only known Craig and Lindsay for a short period of time, but any time I have spent with them, I couldn't help but admire how they loved each other.

On this particular day in October, the air was crisp with the feeling of winter approaching in the mountains of Kananaskis Country, AB. The light was soft with clouds moving in and out, delivering the occasional dusting of snowflakes mixed with sunshine. It was a perfect fall day!

Mount Engadine Lodge could not have been a more ideal, photogenic place for their wedding. It's rustic mountain feel, mixed with a hint ski culture, was the perfect base for these two adventurous souls. The decor was simple, elegant and hand picked by the couple themselves. What really made the day memorable though, was the love and joy that surrounded this couple in the name of family and close friends. With a guest total reaching slightly over 15 people, only the nearest and dearest came to attend such a beautiful union.

The ceremony was filled with many loving moments, long stares of affection, warm embraces, and joyful excitement at the joining of these two. When the ceremony and family photos ended, we left Engadine Lodge to explore the natural beauty that surrounds this picturesque location. I knew when I first arrived that I could not wait to take them into the vast meadow that meets the lodge, begging you to step into it's tall, willowy field. It was in this field that I capture one of my most favourite frames of a bride. With her face turned to the sun, wearing a smile that said it all, surrounded by snowy mountains and sunlight that danced upon the field, laid one of the most beautiful scenes I have had the pleasure of photographing. I thought my heart was going to burst. I am so grateful she was willing to wander for that photo.

I hope you enjoy this heart filled, beautiful fall wedding. If anyone out there is considering an intimate fall wedding in the mountains, I couldn't recommend it more. Mount Engadine Lodge is a perfect venue for this style of wedding.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Lindsay and Craig, for having me capture your incredibly beautiful wedding. It is one I will never forget! Warm wishes for continued love and affection for one another. xo

Iron Goat Pub and Grill ~ Canmore Wedding Photography

What a gift to get to work with these two incredible people... Sonya and Perry are two of the nicest, most easy going people you could be fortunate to work with. I knew from our very first conversation, where we discussed their wedding day that we would be a match made in heaven. When it came time for me to photograph their engagement session, it was like going for a walk with great friends and taking some photos. We had a glorious sunset to work with in Canmore. The setting, the company and the conversation was great. Their wedding proved to be just as lovely and memorable.

Their wedding took place at the Iron Goat Pub and Grill in Canmore. We had such a nice day for their wedding. Warm sunshine bathed the deck at the Iron Goat making everything in it's path glow, including the love that shined off of Sonya and Perry. These two are surrounded by some really loving family and friends. It was such a joy getting to know a few of them and share in the bliss of their wedding day.

Thanks to Perry and Sonya, I have tried their featured beverage from their wedding day, a red wine sangria at the Iron Goat, and I must say that is has become a favourite treat of mine in Canmore. It is delicious and comes highly recommended!

Thank you for the incredible journey of getting to be your wedding photographer, Sonya and Perry! I wish you both so much joy and happiness in life together. I am so grateful I met you both. Much love, xo.

Perry and Sonya were kind enough to send me this lovely testimonial from their experience with me as their wedding photographer. Thank you so much for your kind words. You guys are the best!

"Jody, I wanted to send you some feedback on our experience with you as our chosen photographer - the one we trusted  to capture the memories of our special day. It may be difficult for me to fully express in words how totally blown away we were (are...) with the total experience. This refers to our very first discussions, to the initial engagement photos right through to the final pictures which we just received a few week ago. I remember warning you early on that we may be a challenging project (I'm not exactly the most photogenic .......) but you never wavered in your commitment to deliver. You did however severely under promise and then significantly over deliver on this commitment. You provided everything we asked for, captured the entire event in ways I could never have hoped for - yet you did this while seeming to be invisible. Without exception every person we have been involved in a conversation with about our wedding has mentioned you and how amazed they were with how committed you were to capturing our event. There seemed to be no end to what you would do to get the perfect shot(s). Keep in mind that they all said this without having even seen any of the final product - and the final results are stunning!!! There has to be several (maybe way more) award winning exposures in the collection you sent us. I remember thinking as you were setting up the shots that i wasn't sure they were going to be great - but then to see them afterwards - they weren't great - they were spectacular!!!! You took us to some amazing locales in the Canmore area that i have got to believe few were aware even existed and you captured all the special landscapes that we wanted - without us even knowing you were doing it. Thank you again for being a part of our day Jody. You are a true professional and you should be very proud of the work you produce!!!"

Canmore Nordic Centre Wedding ~ Canmore Wedding Photography

I absolutely adore this local Canmore couple! I knew from the moment I met Tara Lyn and Steve that they would be incredible to work with. Between the engagement sessions we planned together, to their wedding day, all of it was great. I couldn't have asked for better clients to work with!

Their wedding day was filled with laughter, love and great energy. Getting to watch (and photograph) Jenna Anderson of Mountain Makeup Artistry work her magic with Tara Lyn, and the bridemaids, was pretty amazing to take in. It was also a pleasure getting to work with B-towne Salon out of Banff and see their work as well. I recommend both of these local options if you are looking for Hair and Make up services for your wedding day in Canmore, Banff or Lake Louise.

It threatened rain all day at the wedding, but managed to hold off until right before we headed in for the reception at the Canmore Nordic Centre. Perfect timing for one heck of fun evening! Between singing to make the couple kiss, many emotional and funny speeches, the best gift "ever" presented to the groom and wedding party by the bride (see hockey jersey's), and a dance party that left me hopping from one person to the next capturing some impressive dance moves. What a great wedding, at a great venue, in an awesome town!

Thank you Tara Lyn and Steve for allowing me the great pleasure of documenting this special occasion in your lives. I loved your family and friends so much. Can't wait for out next adventure in a Canoe! Much love, xo

Jason and Amy - Canmore Engagement Session

There is little I love more than warm, summer evenings in Canmore...

Meet, Jason and Amy. A lovely couple from Canmore, AB. I was absolutely thrilled when they asked me to photograph both their engagement session and wedding. From the beginning, we planned on bringing Nahly (their beloved dog) along with us for the engagement session. Being a fellow dog lover myself, I was more than happy to oblige. She added all sorts of fun moments to our evening walk. From swims in a lake, to charging the couple when they sat on the grass, to endless hilarious photo bombs that left all of us giggling. It wasn't hard to get great, authentic belly laughs out of these two.

Here are some photos from our walk in the Canmore sun. Stay tuned for their amazing wedding, which took place later on in the fall. You won't want to miss it! It was a beautiful fall day.

Until then, enjoy the summer sun everyone! xo

Jay and Kathleen - Delta Kananaskis Wedding

I love Kananaskis country. It really has to be one of the most beautiful parts of the Canadian Rockies. It proved to be extra beautiful on the day Jay and Kathleen got married last July at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis.

The lodge is situated within the picturesque front ranges of the Canadian Rockies, only a short drive from Calgary AB. It boasts some of the most lovely views of the rocky peaks that welcome you into the Kananaskis range. To top off the great surroundings, the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis also provides every comfort and luxury you would want on a wedding day.

The day was perfect! We had blue skies, warm temperatures and were treated to a glorious sunset in the Rockies. Between the silence you experience on a windless day, the vast valley stretching out before us, and the joy they shared calling each other husband and wife; all of it was a lovely way to finish the day with them.

All throughout the day, there were plenty of loving, sentimental and joyful moments that unfolded between them and their closest family members and friends. It was an honor getting to photograph them and be witness to such a loving union. Best wishes for more love to grow between you and your family. xo

Charmaine and Neill - Silvertip Wedding in Canmore, AB

What a treat to photograph this special wedding that took place at Silvertip Resort last summer. Charmaine and Neill are truly two of the nicest people you could imagine meeting and getting to work with.

Their wedding day was a celebration among many friends and family members on a beautiful Sunday in the mountains. Lots of heart, smiles and good cheer was shared at the union of these two. From them getting ready to their heart felt reception, many hands and hearts played a role in making their day extra special.

Thank you for having me be the lucky photography that got to capture your wedding day. I hope you enjoy the photos for many years to come! xo
