Beautiful Fall Wedding held at McKenzie Farm in Edmonton, Alberta | Destination Wedding Photography

Now this was a wedding for the memory bank! This has to be one of the sweetest, most kind, funny, loving, talented and strong couples I have had the immense pleasure of photographing. They are so great! I am so pleased to finally be able to share the magic from their special wedding day at their lovely family farm, McKenzie Farm, near Edmonton, Alberta.

The day started with lots of laughs at the grooms getting ready location. Ryan, thoughtfully, got each of his groomsmen baseball bats that we later took to a park and played around with them. These guys are so awesome! I mean cream of the crop kind of guys. Super funny, kind, always thinking of how to help make the most of Ryan's day. They were an awesome crew to work with!

Bri is one heck of a lady herself. Ironman triathlete, Naturopathic Doctor and what I think is her best quality, a heart of gold. This lady smiles, and the whole room lights up. Seriously they are an amazing couple!

Their day was so beautiful! The fall colours were just starting to come out, the weather was warm and sunny, the scenery could not have been more intimate and beautiful. All of their guests came prepared to laugh, celebrate and be witness to a really loving union between two great souls. The weather held for us all day until the very end of our Bride/Groom portrait session. At that time, the rains came and cooled the day down leading us into one heck of a great reception and party!

I feel so blessed to have been a part of their great day. Here are my favourite images from their wedding. I hope you enjoy it!

Bri and Ryan, my deepest gratitude to you both for having me come along and capture your beautiful union. I wish you both so much joy, love and happiness on your journey together. Much love to you both! xoxo

Mount Engadine Lodge ~ Intimate Fall Wedding

Getting to photograph this wedding was pure privilege, and a pleasure. I adore how these two love each other. They wear their love for one another, on their sleeves, right next to their big, beautiful, open hearts. I have only known Craig and Lindsay for a short period of time, but any time I have spent with them, I couldn't help but admire how they loved each other.

On this particular day in October, the air was crisp with the feeling of winter approaching in the mountains of Kananaskis Country, AB. The light was soft with clouds moving in and out, delivering the occasional dusting of snowflakes mixed with sunshine. It was a perfect fall day!

Mount Engadine Lodge could not have been a more ideal, photogenic place for their wedding. It's rustic mountain feel, mixed with a hint ski culture, was the perfect base for these two adventurous souls. The decor was simple, elegant and hand picked by the couple themselves. What really made the day memorable though, was the love and joy that surrounded this couple in the name of family and close friends. With a guest total reaching slightly over 15 people, only the nearest and dearest came to attend such a beautiful union.

The ceremony was filled with many loving moments, long stares of affection, warm embraces, and joyful excitement at the joining of these two. When the ceremony and family photos ended, we left Engadine Lodge to explore the natural beauty that surrounds this picturesque location. I knew when I first arrived that I could not wait to take them into the vast meadow that meets the lodge, begging you to step into it's tall, willowy field. It was in this field that I capture one of my most favourite frames of a bride. With her face turned to the sun, wearing a smile that said it all, surrounded by snowy mountains and sunlight that danced upon the field, laid one of the most beautiful scenes I have had the pleasure of photographing. I thought my heart was going to burst. I am so grateful she was willing to wander for that photo.

I hope you enjoy this heart filled, beautiful fall wedding. If anyone out there is considering an intimate fall wedding in the mountains, I couldn't recommend it more. Mount Engadine Lodge is a perfect venue for this style of wedding.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Lindsay and Craig, for having me capture your incredibly beautiful wedding. It is one I will never forget! Warm wishes for continued love and affection for one another. xo

Iron Goat Pub and Grill ~ Canmore Wedding Photography

What a gift to get to work with these two incredible people... Sonya and Perry are two of the nicest, most easy going people you could be fortunate to work with. I knew from our very first conversation, where we discussed their wedding day that we would be a match made in heaven. When it came time for me to photograph their engagement session, it was like going for a walk with great friends and taking some photos. We had a glorious sunset to work with in Canmore. The setting, the company and the conversation was great. Their wedding proved to be just as lovely and memorable.

Their wedding took place at the Iron Goat Pub and Grill in Canmore. We had such a nice day for their wedding. Warm sunshine bathed the deck at the Iron Goat making everything in it's path glow, including the love that shined off of Sonya and Perry. These two are surrounded by some really loving family and friends. It was such a joy getting to know a few of them and share in the bliss of their wedding day.

Thanks to Perry and Sonya, I have tried their featured beverage from their wedding day, a red wine sangria at the Iron Goat, and I must say that is has become a favourite treat of mine in Canmore. It is delicious and comes highly recommended!

Thank you for the incredible journey of getting to be your wedding photographer, Sonya and Perry! I wish you both so much joy and happiness in life together. I am so grateful I met you both. Much love, xo.

Perry and Sonya were kind enough to send me this lovely testimonial from their experience with me as their wedding photographer. Thank you so much for your kind words. You guys are the best!

"Jody, I wanted to send you some feedback on our experience with you as our chosen photographer - the one we trusted  to capture the memories of our special day. It may be difficult for me to fully express in words how totally blown away we were (are...) with the total experience. This refers to our very first discussions, to the initial engagement photos right through to the final pictures which we just received a few week ago. I remember warning you early on that we may be a challenging project (I'm not exactly the most photogenic .......) but you never wavered in your commitment to deliver. You did however severely under promise and then significantly over deliver on this commitment. You provided everything we asked for, captured the entire event in ways I could never have hoped for - yet you did this while seeming to be invisible. Without exception every person we have been involved in a conversation with about our wedding has mentioned you and how amazed they were with how committed you were to capturing our event. There seemed to be no end to what you would do to get the perfect shot(s). Keep in mind that they all said this without having even seen any of the final product - and the final results are stunning!!! There has to be several (maybe way more) award winning exposures in the collection you sent us. I remember thinking as you were setting up the shots that i wasn't sure they were going to be great - but then to see them afterwards - they weren't great - they were spectacular!!!! You took us to some amazing locales in the Canmore area that i have got to believe few were aware even existed and you captured all the special landscapes that we wanted - without us even knowing you were doing it. Thank you again for being a part of our day Jody. You are a true professional and you should be very proud of the work you produce!!!"
