Kananaskis Country, Alberta ~ Elopement at Mount Engadine Lodge

The season of blogging is finally here! It is so nice to have the time to start sharing all of the wonderful weddings and engagement sessions I got to be a part of this past spring, summer and fall. This has been a great year for Jody Goodwin Photography!

To start of this years weddings, here is a sweet engagement session and elopement I had the pleasure of joining in Kananaskis country area this past May. Sara and Justin are both avid outdoors people who wanted a wedding and engagement session that reflected how they share their time in the mountains.

This lovely, earthy elopement was beautifully based at Mount Engadine Lodge along The Smith Dorrien highway in Kananskis country. If you have never had the chance to visit this gorgeous little nook in the mountains, you are missing out! It is quaint, cozy and the perfect place to host a small/intimate mountain wedding away from the hustle and bustle of cities.

I hope you enjoy this collection of images from both their engagement session, which also took place near Mount Engadine Lodge, and their wedding. I wish you both the very best, Sara and Justin. Thank you for bringing me along to capture your love of the mountains, nature and each other. xo

Here are the vendors who played a role in Sara and Justin's wedding:

Mount Engadine Lodge ~ Intimate Fall Wedding

Getting to photograph this wedding was pure privilege, and a pleasure. I adore how these two love each other. They wear their love for one another, on their sleeves, right next to their big, beautiful, open hearts. I have only known Craig and Lindsay for a short period of time, but any time I have spent with them, I couldn't help but admire how they loved each other.

On this particular day in October, the air was crisp with the feeling of winter approaching in the mountains of Kananaskis Country, AB. The light was soft with clouds moving in and out, delivering the occasional dusting of snowflakes mixed with sunshine. It was a perfect fall day!

Mount Engadine Lodge could not have been a more ideal, photogenic place for their wedding. It's rustic mountain feel, mixed with a hint ski culture, was the perfect base for these two adventurous souls. The decor was simple, elegant and hand picked by the couple themselves. What really made the day memorable though, was the love and joy that surrounded this couple in the name of family and close friends. With a guest total reaching slightly over 15 people, only the nearest and dearest came to attend such a beautiful union.

The ceremony was filled with many loving moments, long stares of affection, warm embraces, and joyful excitement at the joining of these two. When the ceremony and family photos ended, we left Engadine Lodge to explore the natural beauty that surrounds this picturesque location. I knew when I first arrived that I could not wait to take them into the vast meadow that meets the lodge, begging you to step into it's tall, willowy field. It was in this field that I capture one of my most favourite frames of a bride. With her face turned to the sun, wearing a smile that said it all, surrounded by snowy mountains and sunlight that danced upon the field, laid one of the most beautiful scenes I have had the pleasure of photographing. I thought my heart was going to burst. I am so grateful she was willing to wander for that photo.

I hope you enjoy this heart filled, beautiful fall wedding. If anyone out there is considering an intimate fall wedding in the mountains, I couldn't recommend it more. Mount Engadine Lodge is a perfect venue for this style of wedding.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Lindsay and Craig, for having me capture your incredibly beautiful wedding. It is one I will never forget! Warm wishes for continued love and affection for one another. xo
